Welcome to Authentic Communication! We are glad that you are here and desiring to learn more about Authentic Communication (aka Nonviolent Communication). We believe that communication matters a lot and that it is vital to learn to speak and think with compassion.
Being in Tune with Compassion
Authentic Communication allows us to do this in a practical way. For instance, imagine that there is a beautiful song that we were all created to hear and be in tune with. The song is playing everywhere and in our hearts as well. Some times we play in tune with the song and at other times we are not in tune. When we play the blame game, criticize others, use put downs and power over tactics we are out of tune with the song. Authentic Communication allows to stay in tune with the song and leads us to manifest love, compassion, empathy and understanding in our lives and world.
It is a process that begins with us doing the work of looking within ourselves and making some adjustments. As Mahatma Ghandi once said, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Authentic Communication is based on Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication (NVC) model. Rosenberg is the founder of the Center for Nonviolent Communication and is an international peacemaker. We are currently offering various ways to learn nonviolent communication through parenting workshops, communication workshops, and coaching for couples and individuals in Placer County (Rocklin, Roseville, Granite Bay, Folsom, Loomis, Auburn).
